First stage of reform in Foz airport was inaugurated on Thursday

It was inaugurated on Thursday (4) the first step of reform, modernization and expansion of the International Airport of Foz de Iguaçu.

The ceremony was scheduled to start at 16.30, with the presence of representatives of Infraero and the tourist trade, which presented a schedule of works and improvements announced.

Among the new features released in the event, is a reformulation of a master plan and the declaration of the area around the airport as having charitable status. The airport can also earn a second runway.

The works began in 2012 and are scheduled for completion in September this year. The budget, $ 70 million was paid entirely with public funds.

Among the improvements still to be made ​​at the airport is the expansion of the passenger terminal, with the construction of a new departure lounge that will serve more than 260 passengers and expansion of the parking lot, and a new arrivals hall with more treadmills for luggage and revitalization of the airport lounge.
