The bridge loan of $ 1.2 billion for the expansion, modernization and operation of the Guarulhos International Airport was approved by the National Bank for Economic and Social Development (BNDES).
The loan will make it possible to perform the initial part of the project, before the analysis of long-term financing is completed.
The project includes construction of passenger and cargo terminals, expansion of courtyards aircraft, runways and parking areas of the vehicle (with the construction of the parking garage), which improve the airport to demand growth assumptions and standards by the grant.
Besides these works, the project also addresses the construction of a new heliport in a different position, avoiding interference by crossing the tracks on takeoff and landing.
Works will also be undertaken to repair the tracks and increase their capacities so they can receive larger aircraft sizes.
The targets for the completion of these works go to 2014 to 2022, as agreed in the concession of the airport.
With the project should be created 4500 jobs, while the airport is expected to reach up to 2100 employees, according to BNDES.
