Acess to Guarulhos Airport by train can be reality in 2014

There is already a date set by the government of São Paulo for the arrival of the train to the Guarulhos International Airport. According to the governor, Geraldo Alckmin, the train will be operating by the year 2014, but not in time for the World Cup. The invitation to pre-qualify companies interested in the work should be released in early December 2012.

The integration of the railway line from São Paulo to the terminal of aircraft should be 11 km long and should be done with the construction of the new Line-13 of the São Paulo Metropolitan Trains Company (CPTM), which will connect the station Engineer Goulart, Line 12, to the terminal with a bus station in Cecap.

According Alckmin, the goal is to deliver the extension in 18 months, also with a maturity in 2014. Will be expropriated for the construction 381 houses which are in the path of the line, who owners may choose to be relocated or receive compensation. The total cost of this project is R$ 350 million.
