By determination of the Secretary of Civil Aviation (SAC), the airport fees from international airports of Guarulhos and Viracoposin the state of São Paulo, receive an adjustment of approximately 6.7%. The decision was announced after publication in the Official Gazette on Thursday (11).
According to the decisions, the increase in the rate was calculated according to a formula already provided for in the concession of the airports. Both the airport of Viracopos and Guarulhos passed to private enterprise in 2012.
Rates for boarding, connection, landing, keeping, storage and wharfage (moving load) may suffer due to the increasing adjustment.
The two airports plus the Brasilia airport were granted to private auction held last year. The price of the fare can generate greater competition between airports, which stipulates it should in order to attract more passengers and airlines.
