The new parking of Guarulhos International Airport, located in the Greater São Paulo, also has a new billing system. The previous car parking was intended for long stay, and the fare was charged per day, whereas the new parking, parking building, can be charged by the hour. The rate for daily continues to exist, with the same amount of R$ 33. Already the hourly rate is R$ 10 for the first hour, R$ 13 for the second and R$ 2.50 per additional hour.
The building, located at the end of the highway Hélio Smidt, will have a shuttle service to take passengers to the airport. Vans will leave the site every five minutes. The shuttle service will run until May 2014, scheduled for completion in Terminal 3. When opened, there will be a system of closed galleries with crawlers that passengers can use.
The garage building was opened in May this year and has eight floors. Its total area is 89 thousand square meters and has a capacity of approximately 2.6 mi, vehicles.
